SATURDAY’S RESUETS.
The second test match between New Zealand and Australia was played at Dunedin and resulted in a win for the All Blacks by 25 points to 13. Wanganui defeated Wellington B. at Wellington by 17 points to three.
Canterbury beat Wellington at Christchurch by 13 points to 5Buller defeated Marlborough at Blenheim by three points to nil after a very strenuous game and thus won the Seddon Shield.
. The Horowhenua Union’s Senior Competitition was completed on Saturday when Hui Mai, by defeating Taiuui, won the Shield.
Next Saturday at Levin, a match 1 will be played between the Horowhenua senior and junior representative teams. The senior team does not include auy local players but the following Foxtonians have been selected to play for the junior “reps” : Williams (wing three-quarter), Neville (wingforward), and Stevenson (emergency forward).
At the last meeting of the management committee of the Horowhenua Rugby Union, it was decided to wind up the season with a representative match, Maoris v. Pakehas, both teams to be selected from the clubs which have taken part in the senior competition. The following selectors were appointed : Maori team, Messrs McMillan, Weahipana ' and Broughton ; Pakeha team, Messrs Procter, Moreland and Green. Both teams will be entertained after the match when the medal presented by Mr D. Green for the best all-round player in the Union will be presented.
