FOXTON BOWLING CLUB.
The annual general meeting of members of the above will be held in the Coronation Hall supperroom to-morrow (Friday) evening, at 8 o’clock. The business will include the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, election of officers, and general. The following is the report to be submitted : Your Committee have pleasure in submitting the balance sheet and statement of receipts and expenditure for year ending 30th June, 1913. Your assets, after allowing for depreciation, stand at 6s, liabiliies ,£282 19 id, leaving a surplus of £261 6s nd. The year’s bowling was interrupted by the general upset occasioned by the Foxton fires, and the question of Sunday playing sofnewhat disturbed the smooth running that has previously characterised the Club. Mr Spring has been most assiduous in his attention to the green and croquet lawns during the winter. They have all been top dressed and you can confidently look forward to them being better than ever. Your Committee here wish to express their appreciation of your caretaker’s work of which they have given recognition by an increase in his remuneration. Trophies were presented by Messrs Harvey, Speirs, Hopper and Adams and excited keen competition. Messrs Speirs, Witchell, Munro and Gray have presented their debentures, totalling to the Club. Your Committee tender all the above gentlemen their hearty thanks. Last, but not least you are greatly indebted to your many lady members for so kindly providing afternoon tea and gracing the Club's grounds. In conclusion your Committee wish you a most successful season and trust nothing will arise to disturb the good fellowship always associated with a Bowling Club.
