ENTERTAINMENTS.

MUNICIPAL PICTURES. Once rgain the Coronation Hall was moie than filled by a large and appreciative audience to witness the programme as submitted on Saturday night. . For Wednesday evening there is another excellent programme. The star film, “Poverty s Thrall, 1,936 feet in length, is a stirring drama in two acts depicting a plot of exceptional strength and ingenuity, produced in perfect photographic quality. It Is full of sensations from beginning to end It is one of the class of film's beyond all others which make the strongest appeal to picture lovers. The other dramas films are, “Down on the Rio Grande,” and “hate- The former is a brilliant Western American story, lull of exciting and thrilling incidents, while the latter is a most powerful and absorbing story. Pathe’s Gazette, as usual, is of a most interesting nature. In scenic, “Mussel Gathering at Villerville” shows how this industry is conducted. The educational film, ‘ The Mexican Army,” coming at a time when Mexico is embroiled in a civil war, will be doubly a PP ciated by the audience. The comic films, which are three in number, are full of merriment in each case. The whole programme is one that can be strongly recommended.

HAYWARD’S PICTURES. A specially fine lot of films are to be screened at The Royal tomorrow night, the programme including two star dramas, one 2228 feet in length and the other over 1000 feet. Both are intensely interesting, well mounted, and played by some of the best known picture actors and actresses. There will also be shown an Australian topical gazette and two very fine scenics. The comedies are both good subjects and sure to amuse.
