OBITUARY.

EDWARD PAGE—AGE 44*

It is with extreme regret that we chronicle the death ot another of Foxton’s esteemed citizens, in the person of Mr Edward Page, which took , place at his residence, Cook Street, on Sunday afternoon. The late Mr Page was a comparatively young man, being only 44 years of age, and was held in the greatest esteem by all who knew him. The immediate cause of death was pleurisy and pneumonia, from which complaints the deceased had been suffering for a little over three weeks. The late Mr Page was born at Patumahoe, Auckland, his father, who now resides in Foxton, being one of the first Europeans to settle in that district. The deceased gentleman had been a resident of Foxton for some eleven years, and was well and favourably known throughout the surrounding districts. He was a Druid of some fourteen years standing, and always took a great interest in Lodge affairs, being an officer of the local Druids' Lodge up to the time be was taken ill. He leaves a widow and four young children to mourn their loss, and to whom we, in common with he residents of the district, extend our heartfelt sympathy.
