SATURDAY’S RESULTS
Seniors,
Levin-W., Cal') v. Koputaroa (3) Foxton forfeited to Hui Mai.
Juniors
Foxton (6) v. Shannon (3)
FOXTON v. SHANNON,
The Foxton and Shannon junior teams met on the local racecourse on Saturday, and after a very interesting game the local team were victorious by six points to three. The score is a very fair indication of the strength of the teams on the day’s play. Foxton's score was made up of a penalty goal by Howe and a try by W. Coley, and Shannon’s score was a penalty goal. Foxton possesses a very good set of forwards, all apparently hard workers. The skipper of the team, Neville, might perhaps be selected as the best ot a really good lot. The half back, Baker, on Saturday gave a very good display and promises to develop into a first-class half ; Hennessy at full was very safe and Williams five-eighth played a good game, but was rather inclined to hang on to the ball; W. Coley, Robinson and Howe did all that was asked of them, but the lastnamed is a little bit on the slow side. The only noticeable weak spot was R. Coley, the wing threequarter, who gave a very indifferent exhibition. Mr Cleland had charge of the game and gave every satisfaction.
