VACCINATION.

Elsewhere in this issue, the Chief and District Health Officers publish notifications re vaccination. Dr. Maudl, public vaccinator, has been instructed by the Department to vaccinate all natives, public servants and the general public. No charge will be made for the operation, and everybody is advised to take advantage of the facility offered as a safeguard to health. Dr. Mandl has sent to Wellington for a supply of lymph and as soon as it arrives he will inform the public through the Herald and fit up a room for carrying out the operations. It is pointed out that all children and those who have not previously taken the virus should not delay. These should be the first to wait upon Dr. Mandl. Afterwards all adults who have not been vaccinated within the last five years are advised to submit to another operation.

The Natives of the adjacent pahs have been notified that they must be vaccinated without delay. The small pox outbreak up north is giving the authorities grave cause for alarm and every precaution is being taken to stamp out this terrible disease. Thousands of people throughout the Dominion are being vaccinated daily and natives are not allowed to travel on any trains unless they can produce a vaccination certificate.
