THE INDRABARAH.
REFLOATED ON SUNDAY
News was received here yesterday morning that the stranded Indrabarah, which went ashore on the Rangitikei beach during a gale on May 12th, had been successfully refloated. The tides and weather were perfect for the attempt, and there was a very high swell, which assisted the work. Working her own screws, and with the aid of four cables, the vessel cut her way through the intervening sand bank, and reached deep water about 11.30 o’clock on Sunday night. After a short interval, the Indrabarah left for Wellington, and, making eleven knots an hour, she reached port early on Monday morning. So tar as can be ascertained the ship is undamaged. Her cargo of meat is still aboard.
The Indrabarah is to leave for Lyttelton as soon as possible for docking, when it will be possible for a proper survey to be made.
