OBITUARY.
MR JAMES TENNANT.
It is with feelings of sincere regret that We announce the passing of Mr James Tennant, u hich took place at Palmerston on Saturday evening. A few weeks ago deceased met with a bicycle accident the injuries from which were at first thought to be of a trifling nature, but ended fatally. Deceased was well-known as a flax miller and farmer at Rangiotu, and only a few mouths ago sold out to live in retirement at Palmerston. He took a keen though quiet interest in all matters pertaining to the welfare of the district. He was accorded a Masonic funeral at Palmerston to-day.. The church service at the house and graveside was conducted by the Rev. J. M. Thomson, of Foxton. The late Mr Tennant was for many years a member of the district committee of the Foxton Presbyterian charge. A widow and grown-up family of two daughters and five sous are left to mourn their loss.
