THE FOLLIES
It is hardly necessary to remind our readers of the re-appearance in Foxton of The Follies, which will take place next Tuesday, 3rd June, at the Coronation Town Hall. Since their last visit to Foxton they have received from a number cf old patrons requests for, a return visit, so everything points to a big house. Miss Cissie O’Keefe, charming contralto ; Miss I vis Edgar, fascinating soubrette ; Miss Lulu Lussams, dancing comedienne ; Mr Cliff O'Keefe, basso ; Mr Kennedy Black, baritone, and pianist; Mr Hugh Steyne, (the silly ass), English Pierrot comedian; will all present new novelty songs and dances. Popular prices will be charged.
j HAYWARD’S PICTURES. Monday night's picture programme at Hayward’s includes the star film “A Woman’s Ambition.” A couple in poor circumstances visit a wealthy relative where, excited by the wealth displayed the wife elopes with one of the guests; a reputed wealthy man. He is arrested and Juliet is left stranded. „ Through the kind offices of p a. policeman she gets employment in a laundry. Her husband has Idit his reason', and a traveller friend arranges an interview between husband and wife when the shock restores his reason. He pardons bis wife and she finds out that a woman’s ambition in life is to love and be loved. A beautiful scenic entitled the “River Eure”, is full of absorbing interest.
