SCHOOL HOLIDAYS.

The Wanganui Education Board has decided that where School Committees desire it the schools south of the Wanganui River may be closed during the week of the Palmerston North Winter Show, i.e., the week commencing 16th June. School Committees who intend to adopt this arrangement, which will apply to the year 1913 only, are required to notify the Board at least two weeks beforehand. Such schools will close for only five weeks at Christmas.

As the Board lias received inquiries as to the date of the “Mid-winter Holidays,” it is thought advisable to draw attention to the fact that the Beard’s regulations, as amended on March 21st, 1912, make no provision for holidays in mid-winter.
