ACCIDENTS ON FOOTBALL FIELD.

Two very unfortunate accidents occurred during the course of the football match, Levin-Wanderers v. Foxton, on the racecourse on Saturday. Early in Uw to ume one of the Levin players, Hector McDonald, had his shoulder put out, and just prior to half time a native named Shamrock, who was playing wing-three-quarter for Foxton, in following up kicked at the ball, at the same time a Levin player also made a kick at the ball, their legs crossing and resulting in Shamrock’s leg being fractured. The crack was distinctly heard by the spectators on the line.

Shamrock gave promise of developing into a really good player. He is only about 18 or 19 years of age and this was his third season in senior football.
