PICTURE SHOW. For to-morrow night we have another fine . star drama, “A Daughter of the Slums,” by the Cosmopolitan Company. This Company is now well to the fore not only with good clear films but also with rattling fine subjects, containing much that is interesting and instructive. ‘‘The Mayor’s Crusade ”is a tale.of the investigation and reform of the sweatshop- A most appealing drama is ” Father and Son,” by the Vitagraph Company; films by this Company always find a hearty welcome by the public. ‘‘The Laird’s Daughter ” is a drama of the bonuie Scotch heather, by the Selig Company. It is a very pathetic story of a poor Scottish lad who is in love with Aieleen McGregor the Laird’s daughter, but when - the Laid learns of the love between the two his wrath is mighty and Robert is ordered never to come near his daughter again. He writes a note to Aieleen asking her to meet him that night as be is going to try his fortunes in America, but the note is intercepted by McGregor, and so the boy goes away disappointed and discouraged not knowing that Aieleen’s love was true. The years pass and Robert has prospered and grown wealthy, but Aieleen has always waited at the old trysting place, hoping and praying for the return of her laddie.” Other films are *‘ Sea Anemonies ” (interest), and the comics, “ Button off his Braces,” “ Tweedledum, Commercial Traveller,” and others.
