BEATEN AT FOOTBALL

Levin, April 16
The starboard watch of H.M.S. New Zealand, under Lieutenant Jones, came to Levin by special train yesterday, and departed at 3-i5-
They were welcomed by the Mayor and Mr Robertson, M.P., were entertained at luncheon by the Government, and passed away three hours pleasantly in sports and games. The Maoris of the district gave powhiris, hakas and poi dances.
A Maori team defeated the sailors at Rugby football, and a white team played a drawn game with them under Association rules.
First Lieut. Jones, in charge, was presented with a Maori mat and an address of welcome by leading Maoris.
