CORRESPONDENCE.
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —l wish to correct a statement made at last Council meeting which imputed to me underhand work in connection with the hire ‘of supper-room for church purposes. This is quite contrary to the truth, and lam pleased to bear that the Council as a whole
took exception to the statement
1 The application was made on behalf ot the Trustees by myself to the' Town Clerk, and a charge agreed upon ' which was satisfactory. I would point out that this room is let as a sample room
at 7s 6d per day of 24 hours, and the church pays 5s for the use of it lor 4 hours, and it will be thus seen that the charge fixed is on a fair basis.—l am etc. Geo. H: Stiles. On behalf Methodist Church Trustees.
