MONTHLY GAS REPORT.
During the month of March the amount of gas manufactured at the local works was 276,000 feet, which, added to the amount in the holder on March xst, 2,500 feet, gave a total of 278,500 feet. The amount sold to consumers for lighting was 156,500 feet, for cooking and power 62,500 feet ; used in street lamps 27,000 feet: used in manager’s house and works, 27,500 feet; ic holder on April xst, 3,000 feet; leaving 2,500 feet unaccounted for. The amount of coal carbonised was 24 tons, yielding 11,700 feet per ton. The earrings amounted to £122. ixs 3d, made up of, gas sales £9s 17s 7d, tar sales £3 13s, coke sales £2 13s, fitting account fittings £9 13s Bd, and weighing £1 14s, The expenditure, which amounted to £129 xos Bd, was made up of, coal £29 8s ; wages, working expenses fitting £B, and plant £8 lis ; and interest and sinking fund ,£59 ixs Bd.
