SHOOTING.
HIMATANGI RIFLE CEUB
Last Saturday was “Belt Day’’ for the Himatangi Rifle Club. There was a good gathering of ladies and other visitors on the range, and the weather was good for both onlookers and shootists. Besides Mr McDonald’s belt several other trophies were competed for, and there was also a match tor the ladies. The belt was won by Mr E. Conlan, with a score of 98 off the gun. Among the ladies, Miss C. Moffat secured Ist prize, with a score of 18 out of a possible 20. Miss C. Conlan, with 16, was 2nd. The following are the scores and trophies gained : —E. Conlan, 98, winner of belt and Messrs Millar and Giorgi’s trophy ; F. C. Raikes, 98, Mr Hopwood’s trophy ; F. Lucinsky, 98, Mr Rimmer’s trophy; C. Conlan, 96, razor strop; W. Motfat, 96, Mr Collins’ trophy; R. Gales, 96. Mr Sorensen’s trophy ; S. T. Hartley, 95, smoker’s set; S. Funnell, 94, Mr S. J. Hartley’s trophy. The Club wishes to thank all the donors of trophies. Mr Collinson’s trophy is to be fired for next Saturday, shooting to commence at 12 sharp. After this the Club hope to have a return match with Foxtou.
