Te Kuiti, April 1
A body was found on the railway line about half a mile north of Te Kuiti last night, and identified this morning as that of Celia MacKenzie, aged eighteen years, a sister of the proprietress of a well-known boardinghouse at Kelvin Grove. Deceased had been run over by a goods train leaving Te Kuiti for Franktou Junction about 10 o’clock. Dunedin, April 1.
Nicholas Charles Edwards, sixty-seven years of age, residing with his wife and family in South Dunedin, this morning cut his throat with a razor.
Dr Newlands, who was summoned, ordered his removal to the hospital, where he died this afternoon. He had been suffering for some time from dropsy and a weak heart, and was in bed at the time of the occurrence.
Timaru, April x
Mr P. Dickson, a clerk in the money order department at the Timaru post office, was cycling in town to-night when he collided with a motor car driven by Mr C. Besley. Mr Dickson sustained a severe scalp wound, and was taken to a private hospital in an unconscious state. He died shortly afterwards. It is stated that Mr Dickson was on the wrong side, and did not turn oil till near the car. The driver turned the car off to avoid him, and Mr Dickson t urning off, too, the collision occurred. He was married, but had no children.
