LAND FOR SETTLEMENT.

OPERATIONS IN APRIL AND

MAY. Land already advertised by the Government for settlement during the month of April aggregate 15,045 acres, in various parts of the Dominion. Lauds already advertised for selection during May, in Auckland, Taranaki, and Southland, aggregate 24,649 acres. Both the totals mentioned will be supplemented, there being further lands for settlement, in the months named, which have not yet been advertised. The land to be opened in April includes ten rural sections in Wellington province, aggregating 5,417 acres. This land will be thrown open on the optional system. It is situated within six miles of a landing place on the Wanganui river. The sections will average about 500 acres, and each will support a settler.
