THE FOLLIES.
The above very clever and versatile company appeared in the Town Hall on Thursday and last night to appreciative, if meagre, audiences. Foxton has been fooled in the past by certain variety shows and the people now fight shy of them, but it is a pity that an entertainment of last night’s excellence should be punished by shows of the takedown order. We can assure the Follies however, that if they should re-visit us, they will not be disappointed with the attendance. There was nothing stale or vulgar on the programme, and the singing, dancing and skits were of a very high order and elicited thunders of applause. No programmes were supplied so that we are not able to give the names of some of the performers we should like particularly to mention, The entertainment was first class and those who were present were delighted with it.
