PRESENTATION.
At the social held in the Presbyterian Hall on Thursday evening Mr and Mrs Wrigley were the recipients of two handsome presents from members of the congregation. The presentation was made by the Rev Mr Thomson, who explained that owing to ill herdth. '.Mrs Wvigley had, under medical advice, to give up her duties as organist and this had a!?o entailed the resignation of Mr Wriglev as choir master. The speaker made flattering references to the musical abilities of Mr and Mrs Wrigley and expressed the congregation’s regret at losing their official services although it was satisfactory to know that they were not leaving the town. He handed a silver kettle suitably inscribed and silver-mounted walking stick to Mr and Mrs Wrigley on behalf of the congregation. Mr Wrigley, •in acknowledging the gifts, referred to the importance or the psalmody and praise, and urged the congregation to give the choir greater assistance in this connection. He also asked the choir to be more regular at practices and paid a tribute to his successor, Mr Buglass. His remarks were received with applause.
