FOXTON GUN CLUB.
The meeting convened by Messrs Barnard, York and Littlejohn of all interested in gun sport, was held in Whyte’s Hotel last night. There was a good attendance, and the meeting was a most successful one. Mr York occupied the chair, and after the objects of the meeting had been explained, it was decided that a club be formed, to be called The Foxtou Gun Club.
. Mr UittlejOhu was elected secretary, and Mr P. Lumsden treasurer. , A working committee was set up, and will meet on Friday evening next for the purpose of deciding upon an opening day and making arrangements in connection with same. All present signified their intention of becoming members ot the Club, and it was decided to immediately send away lor a trap and a supply oi inanimate pigeons, which should arrive in Foxton within the next few days.
The subscription was fixed at 10s per annum.
Mr D.. Green has offered a trophy for competition among the members, and the method of its disposal will be decided at a later meeting.
The secretary will be pleased to furnish any information to those interested in this sport.
