ALL SAINTS’ SUNDAY SCHOOL.

The annual picnic of the above Sunday school was held on Saturday last at Mr Walter Barber’s charming grounds adjoining Bis residence. The children were conveyed to their destination and back in vehicles kindly provided by Messrs Watt Bros., W. Nye, C. Collins, Osborne, Evans and Walker and Furrie. A fair number of parents and grown-ups were also present. The weather was simply perfect for the outing, the hospitality of Mrs Barber lavish, and the supply ol sandwiches, cakes, etc., more than ample ; and there was not a single accident of any sort to mar the happiness of the day, A supply of cordials kindly provided by Mr Freeman were much appreciated. The usual games, etc., were indulged in, supervised by the vicar and teachers ; a complete programme of events had been drawn up by the superintendent. These were catried out very successfully and to the satisfaction of everybody (except the. losers'), the vicar acted as haudicapper and starter, the superintendent as judge and Mr V. Wright as general assistant. Before dispersing the vicar thanked Mr and Mrs Barber, teachers and others who had assisted to make the affair a success. Hilda Thompson 1, Winnie Walls 2 ; skipping for girls under 11 years. —Hazel Newth 1, Beattie I age 2 ; egg and spoon race, 30 yds.—Arthur Thompson 1 ; threelegged race, 50yds. —Cyril Walsh and Vincent Burr 1 ; old girls race, 60yds.—Elvie Alzdorf 1, Erma Alzdorf 2 ; tug-of-war (boys) Arthur Thompson’s team won ; tug-of-war (girls).—Eva Thompson’s team won.
