A SHANNON BRAWL.

CONSTABLE SEVERELY INJURED.

Word was received by the police yesterday morning that Constable Doyle, ot Shannon, had been severely injured in a disturbance which took place at that township on Saturday night. It appears that a disturbance look place in the yard of an hotel. It became necessary for the constable to intervene, and in doing so he was severely handled, sustaining a broken leg and several bruises.

The injured man was taken to the district hospital where he .now lies.

So far the assailant, who made his escape soon after the occurrence, has not been arrested. The police are now investigating the matter.
