DIVINITY STUDENT SUICIDES.
Dunedin, Feb. 3
Richard Goff, a diviuily student, committed suicide at Roxburgh yesterday by shootiug himself. It appears that Goff struck his head against a rock while bathing about five weeks ago, and it is thought by the doctor who attended him that this may have effected his mind. Deceased was relieving Rev Chandler, who is absent on leave, and was 22 years ot age. Goff’s parents reside in New South Wales. Most of those who knew deceased are inclined to the belief that worry was the cause of the suicide, it having been noticed that he was nervously anxious about his clerical duties and distrustful of his own efforts. The weapon used did not belong to deceased. He found it in the manse. The congregation had assembled lor morning service before Goff’s death was discovered.
