CORRESPONDENCE.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —I an credibly informed that my name aud official designation was printed on the invitation

to Cr. Greig's “send-off.” Will you kindly allow me to state, lu common fairness to Cr. Greig and myself, that the tickets were printed with name on without my consent or knowledge, aud, as a matter of fact, I have not seen one of the tickets. —Yours faithfully, Alf. Fraser. Foxton, Jan. 31st, 1913. [The Mayor had little time to arrange preliminaries iu respect to Cr Greig’s farewell. It is the recognised custom for the Town Clerk to issue any official correspondence ou behalf of the Mayor, but the Clerk was absent from Foxton when the invitations were drafted.— Eb.H.]

(To Tut; Editor.) Sir, —Through the medium of your paper I would like to draw attention to the thoughtlessness of certain individuals who patronise the dress circle at the local picture entertainments. I hace noticed on several occasions that some of these (dress circlets) find amusement apart from the pictures, in throwing peanut shells, waste paper and other missiles on to the people occupying the stalls. On one occasion, I, with my wife and family, occupied stall seats, when down came a packet of Tobler chocolates within an inch ot two of my sou’s head. Well sir, would you think a six-months-old nipper would appreciate a crack on the boko with a box of chocolates. The contents of the packet would be accepted no doubt, but not the result of contact with the kid’s cranium. I’m sure the perpetrator of the act was not thinking of the disastrous results which may have happened, but nevertheless, the practice is dangerous and not even funny, It is also irritating to patrons who are above that sort of thing. Trusting that those concerned will show a little common sense when at picture shows in the future. Thanking you for space.—l am, etc.,

Parent,
