FLAXMILL EMPLOYEES’ UNION.

HALF-YEARLY MEETING

The half-yearly meeting of the Manawatu Flaxmill Workers’ Union was held in the Municipal Hall Palmerston N., on Saturday. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mr G. Stove (Rangitane) ; vice-president, Mr A. McLaggar (Tokomaru); secretary, Mr P. T. Robinson; treasurer, Mr A. G. Bolton (Takapau) ; committee, Messrs W. F. Wallace (Karere), W. H. Chalk (Kairanga), G. Duncan (Tokomaru), L. W. Morland (Miranni), PNorton (Tokomaru), and M. Dynan (Tokomaruj. It was decided to call applications for the position of organiser. A resolution congratulating the Labour Conference sitting in Wellington on its success in bringing workers under one head was passed. The balance sheet submitted showed the biggest credit since the organisation of the union, six years ago.
