The public accounts for the December quarter show that the revenue balance at the beginning of the quarter (shillings and pence omitted) was 1 79.666; total . 11 S, 743Expenditure: Permanent appropriations, i, 179,906 ; annual ditto, £1,770,451; transferred to the public works fund, ,£225,000 ; balauce, £943:384; total. £4. 118 ,- 743The public works fund at the end of the quarter showed a balance of £353,228, made up of cash £141,986, advances iu hands of officers £211,242. The customs revenue for the quarter was £867,115, against £789,370 for the same quarter last year. The revenue for the year was £3,335,7 tg, against £3,165,655 for 1911.
The imports for the quarter were £5,723 944, aud exports £4,352,703. The total imports for 1912 were £20,975,076, against £i9,545,879 in 1911, exports £21,770,243 against £19.028,490.
