A GRUESOME DISCOVERY.
Auckland, January 23. One of the men employed in the distributing trenches at ( the city sanitary depot at Harkins Point made a gruesome discovery while he was engaged on Monday morning distributing uigbtsoil which had come to the depot by the night carts that morning. His attention was attracted by something that came from one of the carts which appeared to resemble a human form, and on making a closer inspection he was startled to discover that it was in reality the body ol a newly-bom male child. He was puzzled about how to act concerning the find, and buried the body in the meantime.
After considering the matter for some time he eventually notified the authorities, with the result that after some considerable delay belated information came to the police.
