The University Senate was occupied largely to-day in discussing a resolution from the Professorial Board of Auckland College—“ That in view of the interruptions during the recent capping ceremonies the chairman be instructed to ask the Chancellor to suspend the capping ceremony at Auckland for at least one year; together with a motion by Professor Brown, “ That the diplomas won by the students at each college be forwarded to its authorities, and their presentation be left in its hands and “ That the Senate confer the # degrees.” The discussion was adjourned.
