DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS LOADED.

The carelessness of some person in leaving a loaded gun in a house where there are children has resulted in a fatal accident at Wai-. kanae, whereby a little girl, 10 years of age, was shot by her 13-year-old brother. This is another fatality to be added to the long list of similar accidents which are recorded from time to time, and due to the criminal thoughtlessness of persons who handle firearms. The verdict of the coroner in the case under notice added that “no blame was attachable to anyone.” We cannot think the Coroner is a iatalist, but Mr Nation should not have lost the opportunity of condemning such recklessness.
