DROWNING FATALITY.
MOTOR EAUNCH CAPSIZES
A drowning fatality, by which four men lost their lives, through the upsetting of a motor launch,! happened at the mouth of the Aohauga river, near Castlepoiut; on New Year’s Day. Those drowned were Messrs Sam Potangaroa, of Mastertou, James Power juur., Alexander Duncan and Alexander M’Keuzie (the lasi two being fencers ou Akitio station),. The bodies have not yet been re| covered. . -
The late Mr Putangaroa was about forty years of age, and married, His first wife was drowned at Castlepoiut two or three years ago. His widow was a sister of Mrs W. H. Dauby, ofLausdowne. There are four children.
The late Mr James Power was a sou of Mr James Power, of Aohauga, a well-known horseman and a brother of Mrs Deuby, of Lansdowue. He was thirty-two years of age, married, and leaves a widow and five children at Aohanga. The other two victims of the disaster appear to have been single men.
