RAILWAY MAN INJURED.

Timaru, Dec. 6

A serious accident befell B, Lyons, fireman ou the second express from south, to-day. Crossing the Otaio river, Driver Hall was looking ahead. On turning round, when over the bridge, he missed the fireman. Hall stopped the train, and Lyons was found in the river bed, having fallen through the bridge on to the shingle below, a distance of about 14 feet. One leg was broken at the ankle and the hip. Lyons’ head was much cut about. Probably he is suffering from internal injuries. He was picked up aud brought to the Hospital unconscious.
