ENTERTAINMENTS.

PICTURE SHOW

Another good programme for to-morrow night, all good clear films and highly interesting subjects. The dramas are “ Won by Waiting,” ‘‘ln Little Italy,” “ Lieutenant Rose and Hidden Treasure,” the latter being something that will hold the attention of ah. Lieutenant Rose’s thrilling adventures and hair breadth escapes makes a most exciting story, also ‘‘The Nurse,” the story of a little boy who through the carelessness of a man speeding in a motor car to his club, is knocked down and seriously injured, and for many long mouths is a hopeless cripple, but owing to the careful and long continued watching and striving ou the part of the doctor and the wonderful care ol the nurse, in time the little fellow is able to lay aside his crutch. A beautiful scenic film showing scenes on the “ Upper Thames ” is sure to be appreciated. “German Army Equestrians,” the wonderful feats performed by these horsemen are really something to marvel at. A very pretty natural history subject is entitled “ Our Pet Dogs.” The comedies are a good collection of fun and nonsense. “ Leap Year Proposals.” Every foot of this gives you a laugh. Its a leap year privilege which everyone can take advantage of. “ The Brave Hunter.” At the hunting lodge there arrives a great braggadocio who boasts that he, while in Africa only went in quest of big game, showing a lot of skins as trophies ot his expeditions. Out he starts, accoutres in the most approved fashion after more floor rugs and he comes near getting them, or rather they came near getting him.

THE ROY AD MINSTRELS. The Royal Minstrels and Vaudeville Company played to a medium audience in the Town Hall last night. The majority of the performers were Palmerston amateurs. The programme consisted of songs, choruses, and corner jokes and concluded with a nigger farce. Some of the songs selected were good but except in one or two cases, were not done justice to. The entertainment was disappointing and the company require licking into shape before they attempt to travel. The police kept a watch over the merry spirits in the pit and one individual was quietly removed for interjecting. His re-appearance at the front of the house tvas a signal for great applause. The company intend to revisit Foxton again in about three months time. Owing to a motor car breakdown several of the perfoimers were unable to be present.
