CORRESPONDENCE.
( I'o THE EhITOK).
S ik. —Will you kindly inform •ue what the duty of a policeman is when he attends any entertainment held in the Coronation Hall ? Hoes lie go for bis own amusement or to keep order ? Surely something should he done to stop the disgraceiul scene that took place at the Leslie-Scott concert last night. The pleasure of the majority was spoiled by a few youths, who should know better. Are we losing the spirit of British fairness that we cannot give a good company a hearing ? We have a good hall and should get good companies, but if the present state of things is allowed to go on, no company will care to cone to be insulted by a few “hoodlums.” The ratepayers surely have a right to expect those in authority to keep up the tone of the hall. Thanking you for allowing me space in which to vent my disappointment at not hearing again the most charming voice that has been heard in Foxtou for many a day. —I am, etc.,
Disgusted
