At a meeting of the Wellington Trades and I,abour Council held a fortnight ago a resolution was carried “ That a deputation !rom the Wellington Trades and JUabour Council wait upon the Prime Minister protesting against the action ot the Massey Government in gaoling the Waihi strikers.” The resolution created considerable comment amongst unionists, and the president ot the Trades and Tabour Council (Mr M. This was dealt with at a special meeting of the council last night, and resulted in the motion being rescinded by a small majority.
