LANDS FOR SETTLEMENT.
The Land Purchase Inspector, Mr J. D. Ritchie, states that the Government has concluded arrangements for the purchase and delivery in March of the following Hawke’s Bay freeholds Ngaroto, from Mr H. Hartree, 10,000 acres, and an adjoining property, Waihau, from Mr M’Rae Peacock, 6000 acres, in Puketapu riding. Sbeiiclen, from Mr Lethbridge, 83000 acres, and an adjoining properly, Tuuanui, 2000 acres, trom Mr Hoadley, iu Okawa rid tug. The laud is classed pastoral, it is not expected that it will be suitable tor dairying purposes. Ngaroto and Waihau are described as well watered, Sheridan and Tuuanui aie not so well supplied with running streams, and dams will probably be required. The prices are not yet disclosed for publication.
