BOROUGH FINANCES.

At last night’s Council meeting the borough treasurer presented his monthly report, which was read and adopted as follows : into the district fund account since last monthly meeting and £l2 into the cemetery account. The bank balances this day were: District fund account ,£IOB3 is 6d, cemetery account ,£lB 9s yd and Beach road loan account £76 5s qi all at credit. The balances of the separate accounts are as follows: General account 16s 3d, library account ,£l7 16s id, reserves account £7O 18s rod, cemetery account ys id, sanitation account 15s 3d, town hall account £3 8s 6d, Beach road loan account ,£43651 id, interest account £626 17s lid ail at credit, and the gas works account ,£336 13s id at debit. Most of the rates have now been paid and summonses are being prepared for the balance, and as there is very little more to come in on tiie general account, strict economy must be practised tor the remaining five months of the year.”
