MANAWATU METROPOLITAN SHOW.

The twenty-seventh of the famous e hows tor which Palmerston North has become noted is scheduled for October 30th and 31st and November xst next. “This year’s fixture is to be no laggard in rank of importance with former shows, and to judge from present indications, says our conespondeut, is to be something quite eclipsing previous records. An unusual amount oi interest is being displayed all over the country, particularly in the North from whence a large number of entries are anticipated, the Minister of Railways having granted a fast show slock special from Auckland and the Waikato, which is being taken advantage of by many breeders and exhibitors. The prize schedule is replete with special prizes and trophies and the ordinary prize moneys are again ahead of previous years. The committee maintains its progressive policy and is doing a splendid work for the benefit of the community generally.” The Association is to be congratulated for its unsparing efforts in this direction and we trust that the forthcoming show will meet with the success it is so richly entitled to. The secretary is Mr W. T. Penny from whom all information may be had.
