PERJURY CHARGE.

Christchurch, Last Night.

Mabel Mona Parker was charged with perjury at the Magistrate’s Court tb-day and committed for trial. It was alleged that at the inquest touching the death of her child she stated she was the wife of Ernest John Stokes, signed her name as “ Stokes ” to her deposition, and also gave , the child’s name as stated. Accused, who is 18 years old, in February last had approached the Deputy-Registrar of Births, Marriages and Deaths, and attempted to rectify the error.
