WEDDING BELLS.

SUTHERLAND—WEBB.

A wedding of interest to Foxton residents was solemnised at St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church Remnera, (Auckland), on Wednesday last, 28th August, the contracting parties being Miss Ethel Webb, daughter of Mr and Mrs IT. Webb of this town, and Mr E. G. Sutherland, formerly of the Manawatu Herald, but now racing editor of Auckland’s new sporting journal, The Sportsman. The Rev B. G. Monro was the officiating minister, while Mr Boj r d Sutherland (of the Auckland Telegraph Department) carried out the duties of best man. The bride looked charming in a soft silk travelling costume, and wearing a silk mohair hat trimmed with pink roses. She was attended by Miss Maggie Sutherland, who wore a smart frock and hat to match. After the ceremony the happy couple left by motor for their new home at Remnera, where the party and guests were photographed on the lawn. At the wedding breakfast the usual appropriate toasts were honoured. Among those present being the managing director of The Sportsman, members of the staffs of the N.Z. Herald and N.Z. Sporting Revi.w, relatives and friends. The weaning gifts included a handsome clock, presented by the proprietors of The Sportsman, a cheque from a F'oxtou acquaintance and numerous useful gifts.
