BOWLING CLUB.

The annual meeting of members ot the above was held iu the supper room of the Town Hall last night. Mr P. Henuessy (president) occupied the chair, and there was a good attendance of both ladies aud gentlemen. A number of apologies tor absence were received. The annual report, as published iu last issue, ana balance-sheet were read aud confirmed.

The following new members were elected : Mr and Mrs Freeman aud Mrs Fieldes.

The following officers were elected :—President, Mr Thos. Rimmer ; vice-presidents, Messrs Plarvey, Ciemett and Alex, Speirs; committee, Messrs M. H. Walker, Stunell, Geo. Barber, Wbibley and Green; secretary and treasurer, Mr H. Witchell (re-elected); ladies committee, Mesdames Greig, Adams, Witchell, Misses Ross aud Speirs. Alterations to cerlaiu rules passed last year referring to the financial year and country members were confirmed on the motion of Messrs Horublow aud Wilcheli. It was decided to hold a euchre party aud dance, details, etc,, to be Lett m the hands of the ladies.

The ground committee is to be elected trom the general committee. Mr Stunell pointed out that the committee’s ruliug as to the fitness ot the ground tor playing purposes should be final. it was agreed that the ground committee aud caretaker should be the final arbiters iu this connection iu future.

The question of increasing the caretaker’s salary was lett to the committee ; also haudicappers. Votes ot thanks to the outgoing officers were carried, and the president aud secretary suitably replied. The new president, Mr Thos. Rimmer, thanked the members for electing him, and said he would do his best during his term of office to advance the interests of the Club.

The secretary suggested that those present suotild endeavour to double me membership this year, A vote oi thauxs to the chair concluded the meeting.
