C.E.M.S.
A meeting was held in All Saints’ schoolroom on Thursday evening last, presided over by the vicar, to consider the advisability of forming a branch of the C.E.M.S. There was a fair attendance.
Mr Woodward pointed out that the society was religious as well as social, and that nuu no account was it to be allowed to become one sided.
After the rules and regulations setting out the objects of the society had been read and discussed, Mr Kellow .proposed' and Mr A. S. Easton seconded and it was carried, that a branch of C.E.M.S. be formed in Eoxtou.
• The following Provisional Committee was elected to forward the movement: Messrs G. Y. Woodward, Holliugton (secretary), J. Crowe, A. J. Kellow, Eongworth, A. S. Easton and G. O, Barber. It was decided that the society meet once a fortnight and that the committee meet to draw up a syllabus.
A vote of thanks to the chair concluded the meeting.
