The return Manawatu-Horo-whenua match played at Palmerston North on Saturday resulted in a particularly easy victory tor the home team, the final score being Mauawatu 20, Horowhenua 3. Owing to the ground being very soft and greasy, the game was made a forward one. From the kick off Manawatu briskly attacked. Waldegrave was the first to score from a passing rush. Shortly after the same player again scored. The next to score was Muuro, Hughes converting. Just on half time N. Winiata kicked a penalty goal for the visitors, making the score 11 103. The second spell was simply a walk over for Manawatu, Walsh scoring three tries, Baigeut and Ford one each, J. Hughes converting one. From a spectator s point of view, the game was anything but interesting, the local men having everything their own way.
