A POINTER FOILED.

Wellington, June 28. It was elicited at a meeting of the Wellington Land Board today that a settler who took up a section at Taihape was not living on it, as required by the regulations, but instead had built three houses upon it, from which he was deriving substantial rents. He was, however, living himself in a whare on Maori land. The Board resolved that be forfeit the section for non-compliance with residential conditions.
