FOOTBALL.
At Shannon on Saturday LevinWanderers defeated the local team by eight points to three. The Shannon team included Reid, Rore and Haeana, of Foxtou. The victors score was made up of a try by Heta, converted by Nepia Winiata and a goal from a mark. Haeana scored a try for Shannon.
In the Levin-Wauderers-Shau-non match on Saturday, Reid played the best forward game on the ground, dribbling and tackling m fine style.
The following players have been nominated by me Hoiowhenua Union for the North Island representative team, to play against the South Island team : —Kerr, halfback ; H. Rawiti, wing threequarter ; Sciascia, hooker ; W. Winiata and J. Reid, forwards.
