TOWN CLERK S REPORT.
The following report ou the workings of the borough for the past month were submitted by the Town Clerk at last night’s Borough Council meeting ;
<( The daymen have finished the borough drains for the year, and have put down the main portion of the Norbiton Road culvert, regraded and g ravelled footpath in front 01 town hall, repaired footpath in trout of Cr Stewart’s house Lady’s Mile, dug fresh cesspit at town hall, lifted and relaid drain pipes to same and diverted storm water from town hall to street channels. A beginning has been made at south end of Main Street by ploughing up buried metal which will be shifted to centre of road by road grader, and as soon as the metal comes to hand a start will be made to spread same on bottom end of Main Street. The attendance at both pictures and skating nnk is falling off, partly owing, uo doubt, to the bad weather experienced lately.”
