MOUTOA NOTES.

(Own Correspondent)

Mrs Saunders, of Moutoa, has been ordered to Auckland by her medical adviser until next summer, by which time I trust to see her back with us quite well. I am pleased to report that Mrs Mohekey, who has been seriously indisposed of late, is now sufficiently recovered to be about again. A dance was held in Dr. Walls’ Hall last Friday evening and quite an enjoyable evening was spent by a large number of young people. I hear that skating may also be indulged in one night a week.

Mr and Mrs Russell Green will shortly take up their residence in Moutoa.

An official visit was paid to the local flaxmills last Thursday byMr J. Lomas (Chief of the Labour Department), Mr W. J'. Culver (Inspector of Awards), Mr John Robertson, M.P., and Mr R. H. Dalnousie (of the Flaxmill Employees Union). From what could be gathered from the visit' the report, when presented to the Minister of Labour, will not be very commendable so far as some of the mill accommodation is concerned. We are pleased to hear that Mrs H. Hall, who has the catering for Whitaunni, has received a very complimentary letter from the Flaxmill Employees Union, expressing the opinion that the Whitauuui menu and tables are ahead of any of the other mills visited.

Invitations to the wedding and a dance to be held iu honour of the event have been issued by Mr and Mrs Newth, whose daughter, Elsie, is to married to Mr J. Hillman, of Foxton, on June sth.

It is rumoured that a kitchen party and also a birthday party will take place soon in Moutoa.

A considerable amount of metal has been carted on to the MoutoaFoxton Road, and it is iu a very bad state at present. However, the metal is of a very good quality and when properly set should put the road iu first-class order for some considerable time.
