MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

CIVIL BUSINESS

The monthly s.ttiug of the Magistrate’s Court was held before Mr A. D. Thomson S.M- yesterday, when judgment for plaintiffs was entered up in the following undefended civil cases: G. H. Stiles v. H. J. Richards, claim 17s 6d, costs 53; Oliver v. Matenga Moroati, ,£3 Ss, costs 20s ; S. nett v. John Connell, 10s, costs 12s 6d ; G. H. Stiles v. Reaston Baker, £4 15s Sd, costs 10s ; A. D. Bauckham v. Hanteriui, £1 15s, costs 12s ; and A. Thomas v. Thomas Brock, £6 13s 6d, costs ,£x 9s 6d, JUDGMENT SUMMONSES. Fred Walls, who did not appear, was ordered to pay M. H. Walker £1 16s 6d forthwith in default three days’ imprisonment. In the case M. H. Walker v. Reaston Baker a judgment debt of £9 9=, judgment debtor was examined as to his earnings since judgment was obtained, after hearing which the Magistrate refused to make an order, but he varied the original judgment so as to be paid at the rate of five shillings per week. Matthew Connolly, who did not appear, was ordered to pay G. H. Stiles the sum of £$ 6s 8d forthwith in default three days’ imprisoument in Palmerston prison.

In the case G. H. Stiles v. John Kiuley an order was made tor the payment by judgment debtor of £1 195 6d forthwith iu default three days’ imprisonment iu Palmerstou prison.
