FOOTBALL.
The Horowhenua Rugby Union’s senior competition wil 1 commence on Saturday. The fixtures for that day are ;
Foxton v. Levin-Wanderers, at Foxton.
Rovers v. Tainui, at Shannon Hui Mai a bye.
The junior competition will be commenced on Saturday, May nth.
The players selected to represent Foxton against Levin-Wan-derers on Saturday, are requested to be on the ground not later than 2 p.m., when Mr Desmond, the club’s coach, will be in attendance. The team will also elect a captain and vice-captain for the ensuing season.
A meeting of the Management Committee .of ■ the Horowhenua Rugby Union will be held at Levin to-night, when the balance ot the fixtures for the first round of the senior competitions and also ihe first round of the junior competition will be drawn up and the referees for each match appointed.
The following team has been chosen to represent Foxton against Levin - Wanderers on the racecourse on Saturday : R. Robinson Taumaranui Shamrock Woods Pitihira W. Cook G. Rimmer W. Robinson A. Cook Martin Haeana Caulwell F. Hooker Bowe Reid Emer,, Back, A Rimmer ; forwards, Gascoigne, Prosser. Any ot the above players unable to take part iu the game are requested to immediately advise the secretary. Saturday’s game on the racecourse will commence at 3 p.m. The prices of admission are gents one shilling, ladies sixpence.
