FOOTBALL.

FOXTON CLUB’S ANNUAL MEETING.

The annual general meeting of the Foxton Football Club was held in the Council Chamber on Tuesday evening. Dr Adams, president of the Club, occupied the chair, and there was a fair attendance of members.

The annual report and balancesheet was read and adopted. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:— Patron, Mr O. R. Robinson ; president, Mr P. Lumsden ; vicepresidents, Messrs G. H. Stiles, C, E. Robinson, H. Witchell, and G. Coley ; secretary and treasurer, Mr F. D. Whibley ; management committee, Messrs J. Baylis, O. Cook, J. Desmond, E. Wanklyu and J. F. Reid ; selection committee, Messrs Dr Adams, J. Desmond and the captain ; delegates to the Union, Messrs Lumsden, Whibley and O. Cook ; coach, Mr J. Desmond. The election of captain and vicecaptain were held over until the first match. It was decided to nominate a senior and junior team in the Horowhenua Union’s competitions.

It was resolved to open the season with a scratch match on the racecourse on Saturday afternoon.

Other minor matters were discussed, and the meeting terminated after passing a vote of thanks to the chair.
